Job Description

Quesnel Community Living Association is dedicated in providing the highest standards of support and care for adult individuals with diverse challenges and needs.

All applicants must be available for a variety of shifts. Casual shifts will cover vacation, sick time and extra staffing requirements, as needed.

To assist clients of an accredited agency with their physical, economic, vocational, recreational, social, emotional and daily life skills development. In addition, staff are required to model appropriate and pro-social behaviour in a clear way that fosters learning and understanding. This position requires BCGEU membership.

EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS:

• This position requires Grade 12 or GED. Preference is given to those candidates who have post-secondary education in the field or the equivalent in education and experience.
• 19 years of age minimum
• Valid CPR/First Aid, (Food Safe certification isn’t a requirement but would be considered an asset)
• Valid BC Driver's License and clean driver's abstract
• Tuberculosis Screen
• Criminal Record Check
• Physician's note confirming physical and mental wellness
   

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Good observation and assessment skills
• Ability to manage crisis situations effectively
• Excellent writing skills, including computer-based report writing
• Ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team environment, while being adaptable and flexible
• Able to complete all residential care duties
